About the Opportunity
Amgen India is looking for an Associate Legal Counsel to join their in-house legal team in Hyderabad. The role involves broad in-house legal work across commercial contracts, employment law, corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory matters — with a cross-functional team advisory focus.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and support negotiation of commercial agreements, vendor arrangements, and NDAs
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, internal SOPs, and industry codes
- Draft and review employment contracts, offer letters, and internal employee policies
- Provide proactive legal support to cross-functional teams (HR, Sourcing, Compliance, Finance, Medical, Technology)
- Maintain and update the contract templates repository; drive technology-enabled contracting efficiencies
- Design and deliver periodic legal training to internal stakeholders
- Support corporate governance — shareholder/board resolutions, corporate records, reporting obligations
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders on legal and regulatory matters
Eligibility Criteria
- Law degree from a reputed university in India and admission to practice law in India
- Minimum 3–4 years of experience, with command over labour & employment law and complex commercial contracting
- Prior in-house experience in a multinational corporation preferred
- Experience in life sciences, healthcare, technology, or other highly regulated industries preferred
- Strong qualifications in transactional work — structuring, advising, drafting, and negotiating complex contracts
- Excellent oral and written communication; fluency in English required
