Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) is a premier nuclear research facility in India.
MyGov is a citizen engagement platform of the Government of India.
About the Competition
As part of Independence Day Celebrations 2026, BARC in collaboration with MyGov invite citizens of India to participate in an essay competition.
The essay should be 500 words on one of the following topics:
“परमाणु ऊर्जा और संबंधित प्रौद्योगिकियों का शांतिपूर्ण उपयोग”
“Peaceful Use of Nuclear Energy and Related Technologies”
This initiative aims to spread awareness among Indian citizens about the peaceful use and development of nuclear energy.
Competition Structure
Only one entry per individual is allowed.
Essays will be checked with AI text detection tools for originality.
Use of any unfair means such as impersonation or multiple participations will lead to disqualification.
No copyright materials should be used; an undertaking must be furnished.
Prizes
First Prize: Rs. 5,000
Second Prize: Rs. 4,000
Third Prize: Rs. 3,000
The top 3 winners will receive e-invitation cards via email to attend the 2026 Independence Day ceremony at the Red Fort, New Delhi.
Eligibility
Open to citizens of India only.
Employees connected with the competition’s organisation and their immediate family members are not eligible.
Important Details and Conditions
Winners will be contacted via their registered email with further instructions and required document submissions such as ID proof and bank details for prize disbursal and invitation issuance.
All costs related to travel, lodging, and food for attending the Independence Day ceremony in Delhi must be borne by the winners themselves.
However, free Delhi Metro travel to and from the event will be provided upon showing the e-invitation.
A valid mobile number and email ID should be used only once for participation.
The organisers reserve the right to amend or withdraw the competition at any time.
All disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of Delhi courts.

Submit your original 500-word essay on the specified topic through the MyGov (link attached at the end of the post) platform as per the contest announcements.
