Novo Nordisk Global Business Services (GBS) is hiring an Associate Legal Counsel for its Contracting COE – GLIPS department.
The role involves supporting contracting activities across multiple business lines, ensuring that agreements are legally sound, compliant with applicable requirements, and aligned with business objectives.
Eligibility
Applicants should have:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law.
- 3+ years of experience supporting the legal department of a global corporation in drafting, reviewing, and redlining contracts.
- Strong understanding of contractual terms and conditions, including risk mitigation and negotiation strategies.
- Understanding and experience of end-to-end Contract Lifecycle Management.
- A proactive approach with the ability to innovate and improve processes and work products.
- Exposure to a contract management tool will be preferred.
Responsibilities
Contract Drafting, Review and Negotiation
- Review contracts prepared using Novo Nordisk’s standard templates and contracts received from counterparties.
- Ensure contracts comply with applicable laws and internal policies.
- Draft contracts in collaboration with Global Legal lawyers where standard templates are unavailable.
- Provide end-to-end support for contract review, negotiation, stakeholder coordination, and execution.
- Respond to complex contractual queries with clear and commercially sound guidance.
Risk Identification and Compliance
- Identify contractual risks and issues and suggest alternatives that support favourable business outcomes.
- Analyse contract requirements and content for alignment with applicable laws, Novo Nordisk policies, and compliance standards.
Process Improvement and Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with Procurement, business units, and Global Legal teams on risk standards and contracting approaches.
- Support the development of templates, playbooks, and guidance materials.
- Contribute ideas to improve legal processes, contracting workflows, and work quality.
