- WTO dispute settlement representation for India or private parties
- Anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigations advisory
- Trade remedy proceedings before DGTR (Directorate General of Trade Remedies)
- FTA negotiation support and rules of origin advisory
- Export control and sanctions compliance
- Customs valuation and classification disputes
Skills Required
- WTO Agreements — GATT, GATS, TRIPS and SCM Agreement
- WTO Dispute Settlement Understanding (DSU) procedures
- Anti-dumping and countervailing duties — Indian and global rules
- DGFT regulations, FTP and ITC(HS) classification
- Customs Act and valuation methodology
- FTA text negotiation and implementation
Career Roadmap
Study international law and trade law during LLB
LLM with international trade law or WTO focus is strongly recommended
Intern at DGFT, Commerce Ministry or Geneva-based WTO practice
Build expertise in anti-dumping or customs law for domestic practice
Consider Appellate Body or WTO Secretariat internship for global exposure
