About the Opportunity

Blueleaf Energy is seeking an Assistant Manager – Development (Legal) with strong background in renewable energy project development, land acquisition, and regulatory approvals. The role requires extensive field and stakeholder engagement and day-to-day management of project development activities.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Carry out Project Development activities for greenfield development of Renewable Energy projects
  • Land Acquisition — conduct Land Due Diligences (TSR), site feasibility studies, land due diligence process
  • Understand land acquisition policy framework — land-ceiling acts, non-agricultural conversion, forest land approvals
  • Coordinate with internal/external legal firms for Title Search Reports for project lands and RoW lands
  • Manage Permits, Licenses and Approvals (PLAs) for renewable energy project setup and commissioning
  • Procure and negotiate lease agreements, development agreements, and purchase agreements
  • Meet and liaise with local developers, service providers, government authorities, and other stakeholders
  • Coordinate with Safety team on Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and ESMP implementation
  • Provide regular progress updates to Blueleaf Energy leadership

Eligibility Criteria

  • Degree or post-graduate qualification in Law
  • 5–7 years of professional experience with key focus on energy project development (solar/wind/renewable)
  • Strong network with local developers in India
  • Excellent project management skills with ability to manage risks and drive outcomes
  • Strong MS Office, Google Earth, and AutoCAD skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively within India
  • Excellent English (written and conversational) and Hindi communication skills
