About the Institution

The School of Law, Suresh Gyan Vihar University (SGVU), Jaipur, is organizing the 1st SGVU–RANKA National Moot Court Competition, 2026 in collaboration with the Ranka Public Charitable Trust. SGVU is a NAAC A+ accredited university recognized for academic excellence, innovation, interdisciplinary education, and professional development.

The School of Law emphasizes practical legal education through moot courts, legal aid programmes, seminars, internships, court visits, and advocacy training. It also houses a modern, air-conditioned Moot Court Hall that provides students with real courtroom simulation and advocacy experience.

The Ranka Public Charitable Trust, established in 1980 by Late Dr. N. M. Ranka, has been actively promoting legal education, philanthropy, and advocacy through scholarships, law festivals, trial advocacy competitions, and national moot court competitions.

Details of the Event

The 1st SGVU–RANKA National Moot Court Competition, 2026 aims to provide a national platform for budding legal professionals to enhance their advocacy, legal research, drafting, analytical reasoning, and courtroom etiquette through simulated judicial proceedings. The competition seeks to promote ethical advocacy, professionalism, and intellectual discourse on contemporary constitutional issues.

The moot proposition is centred on Constitutional Law with special emphasis on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Participants will argue a fictional case involving AI-generated deepfake technology, Aadhaar-based facial authentication, digital identity theft, privacy rights, cyber fraud, negligence of banks and fintech companies, and constitutional obligations of the State regarding digital identity protection. The competition consists of Preliminary Rounds, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and the Final Round, judged by eminent judges, senior advocates, academicians, and legal experts.

Eligibility

The competition is open to students enrolled in 5-year Integrated Law Programmes and 3-year LL.B. programmes from recognized law schools, colleges, and universities across India. Each institution may send a maximum of two teams, with each team consisting of three members—two Speakers and one Researcher.

Once registration is confirmed, no change in team composition is permitted without prior approval from the Moot Court Society. Participants must also maintain anonymity during the competition by using only their allotted team code.

The competition will be conducted physically at the university campus from 8–10 August 2026.

Registration / Submission Procedure

Interested teams must register by filling out the official Google Registration Form (attached at the end of the post). Registration is complete only after payment of the prescribed registration fee and email confirmation from the organizers. Each team must submit:

  • Completed Registration Form
  • Institutional No Objection Certificate (NOC)
  • Declaration Form signed by all participants
  • Details of Speaker 1, Speaker 2, and Researcher
  • Memorials in both PDF and hard-copy format before the prescribed deadlines

No spot registrations or refund requests will be entertained after registration confirmation. Teams requiring accommodation must separately inform the organizers before the stipulated deadline.

Fee Details

  • Registration Fee (Without Accommodation): ₹4,000 per team
  • Additional Accommodation: ₹6,000 per team (optional)

Accommodation requests must be communicated to the Moot Court Society before 26 July 2026 (6:00 PM IST).

Prizes

The organizers have announced attractive cash prizes along with trophies and certificates:

  • Winner: ₹21,000 + Trophy + Certificate
  • Runner-Up: ₹11,000 + Trophy + Certificate
  • Best Mooter: ₹5,000 + Trophy + Certificate
  • Best Researcher: ₹5,000 + Trophy + Certificate
  • Participation Certificates will be awarded to all participating teams.

Additionally, the Best Three Memorials will be published on Manupatra Online, providing valuable academic recognition to participants.
