About the Organiser
Noida Legal Service Trust (NLST) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to making justice accessible for all. NLST provides free legal aid, conducts awareness campaigns, and empowers law students through internships and national-level competitions.
Driven by integrity and social commitment, NLST serves as a bridge between the legal community and the underprivileged, ensuring that justice is a right for every citizen.
About the Competition
The NLST Annual Mediation Competition is a premier national-level event where law students assume roles of Client, Counsel, and Mediator to resolve disputes through negotiation and collaboration instead of litigation. The fully online competition takes place on platforms like Zoom and Google Meet from August 14 to 16, 2026.
Participants navigate realistic dispute scenarios through multiple rounds, guided by experienced mediators and legal experts. The competition enhances communication, negotiation, strategy, and emotional intelligence skills, providing valuable exposure and networking for aspiring legal professionals.
Competition Structure & Rounds
- Preliminary Rounds: 2 Rounds (45 minutes each)
- Quarter-Finals: 45 minutes
- Semi-Finals: 60 minutes
- Final Round: 60 minutes
- Platform: Fully online via Zoom/Google Meet with breakout rooms for caucuses
- Scoring: Mediating Pairs and Mediators are judged independently, each out of 100 marks
Eligibility
- Students enrolled in 3-year or 5-year law degree programmes recognised by the Bar Council of India
- Teams of 3 members only, comprising roles of Client, Counsel, and Mediator
- All team members must be from the same institution
- Each institution can register a maximum of 2 teams

- Certificates for all participants
Prize of Rs. 15k to the Winning Team.

- August 14: Inauguration and Preliminary Round 1
- August 15: Preliminary Round 2 and Quarter-Finals
- August 16: Semi-Finals, Final Round and Valedictory
