The NLUD Journal on Labour is an annual, double-blind peer-reviewed journal published by the Centre for Labour Law Research and Advocacy, National Law University Delhi. The journal aims to promote interdisciplinary scholarship on labour and related issues by fostering diverse academic perspectives.

About the Call for Papers

The Centre for Labour Law Research and Advocacy, National Law University Delhi, has announced a Call for Papers for the third issue (2026–27) of the NLUD Journal on Labour. The upcoming issue is centred on the theme “Technology, Labour and Governance” and welcomes interdisciplinary contributions on labour-related issues.

Theme

The third issue focuses on “Technology, Labour and Governance.” Suggested sub-themes include:

  • MNREGA/VB-GRAM G and Digital Information System
  • Manual Scavenging, Technology and Dignified Labour
  • Reg-Techs and Labour
  • Unorganised Workers, Digital Access and Welfare Schemes
  • Digital Identity, Informal Workers and Access to Social Protection
  • Technology and Labour Inspection: Towards Smart Compliance
  • Data Governance, Worker Privacy and Workplace Surveillance
  • Artificial Intelligence, Automation and the Future of Work
  • Algorithmic Management and Labour Rights in the Gig Economy
  • Gender, Technology and the Changing Nature of Work
  • Technology, Labour Justice and Access to Grievance Redressal
  • Digital Public Infrastructure and Labour Welfare
  • Migrant Workers, Technology and Welfare Portability
  • Digital Divide, Social Inequalities and Labour Governance

Types of Submissions

The journal invites the following categories of submissions:

  • Special Articles: 8,000–10,000 words
  • Short Articles: 5,000–8,000 words
  • Insights/Perspectives: 3,500–4,500 words
  • Book Reviews/Case Notes: 2,500–3,000 words
  • Field Notes/Pictorial Commentaries: 1–2 pages

Submission Guidelines

  • All submissions (except Book Reviews) must include an abstract of not more than 300 words and five important keywords.
  • Word limits are inclusive of footnotes.
  • References and citations must conform to the APA Citation Style.
  • Student submissions (UG/PG) will not be considered for the Journal.

Important Dates

  • Submission Opens: 20 July 2026
  • Last Date for Submission: 30 September 2026
  • Communication of Acceptance and Confirmation: 30 January 2027
  • Proposed Date of Publication: 15 May 2027

All submissions must be made online through the submission portal at cllra.com or by email at jol@nludelhi.ac.in.

Conditions of Publication

  • Submissions must be original and should not be under simultaneous consideration by any other publication.
  • Authors will bear full responsibility for any infringement and associated consequences.
  • Upon publication, authors grant the NLUD Journal on Labour an irrevocable, transferable, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce, publish, and distribute their work.
