About the UNESCO Chair
The UNESCO Chair for Legal Dimensions of Clean Sports at National Law University Delhi is a pioneering initiative established under the UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs Programme to advance research, collaboration, and education in sports law and clean sports across Asia.
It serves as a hub for academic institutions, researchers, practitioners, and partner organizations to exchange ideas and develop educational programmes.
Background and Rationale
India’s sports law landscape is undergoing significant transformation with developments such as the National Sports Governance Act, 2025, criminalisation of doping offences under Chapter VI-A of the National Anti-Doping Act, 2022, evolving CAS jurisprudence involving Indian athletes, and growing intersections with intellectual property and data protection law. The competition seeks to promote scholarly debate on these issues.
