About the Opportunity
NLSIU invites online applications from accomplished professionals for the full-time position of Chief Finance Officer. The role is responsible for the institution’s financial strategy and reports to the Registrar. The post is based on the NLSIU campus in Bangalore.
Post: Chief Finance Officer (1 vacancy)
Pay Structure: Level 14 as per VII CPC
Tenure: Permanent till the age of superannuation (62 years), subject to confirmation after a two-year probation period
Eligibility
Essential Qualifications: Master’s/Post Graduate Degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade
Desirable Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost and Management Accountant (CMA)
Experience: Minimum 15 years of administrative experience in a supervisory role handling audited accounts, budgeting, procurement, and compliance, preferably in a recognized University or comparable public/private entity with over 200 employees and turnover exceeding INR 25 crores
Skills: Proficiency in English communication, Microsoft Office, accounting and ERP software, management, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving, team and stakeholder management, and relationship building with government and private institutions
Roles and Responsibilities
Manage accounting, auditing, budgeting, finance, and related activities
Oversee procurement functions
Formulate and implement financial policies and budgeting
Prepare monthly expenditure reports and manage cash flow forecasts
Ensure compliance with legal, financial, and procurement policies for all projects
Conduct risk management and audits; maintain fixed asset records
Advise on expenditure controls and cost-saving measures
Collaborate with other department heads to monitor finance-related operations
Selection Process
Part 1: Application review; candidates shortlisted at a 1:5 ratio for interview
Part 2: Interview round evaluated by a Selection Panel
Potential for multiple interview rounds, in-person or via video conferencing
Background checks and reference verification may be conducted
