About the Opportunity
Godrej Properties is hiring a Deputy General Manager (Legal) to oversee legal aspects of real estate transactions, litigation, customer documentation, land due diligence, and regulatory compliance. The role involves working closely with internal business teams, external legal consultants, joint venture partners, and customers while providing strategic legal support across projects.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must possess:
- An LL.B. degree from a recognised university.
- 10 – 12 years of relevant work experience (the role description also seeks candidates with extensive experience in real estate legal functions).
- Strong knowledge of:
- Maharashtra Land Laws;
- Real Estate laws and regulations;
- RERA;
- Consumer litigation;
- Arbitration;
- Statutory compliance.
- Experience in:
- Real estate litigation;
- Land due diligence;
- Legal documentation;
- Deal structuring;
- Customer agreements;
- Society formation and conveyancing.
Roles and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Handling litigation, including Consumer Forum and RERA matters.
- Conducting legal due diligence and title verification for land acquisitions.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating development agreements, joint venture agreements, powers of attorney, indemnities, bank guarantees, and other transaction documents.
- Preparing and reviewing customer agreements and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
- Managing legal formalities relating to society/association formation.
- Advising business teams on legal and regulatory issues concerning real estate projects.
- Representing the company before courts, tribunals, and arbitration proceedings.
- Coordinating with external advocates, solicitors, legal consultants, and joint venture partners.
- Driving legal process improvements and ensuring compliance with company policies.
