About the District Collector’s Office, Ranipet
The District Collector Office, Ranipet functions under the Government of Tamil Nadu and is responsible for the overall administration of Ranipet District, including revenue administration, law and order, and coordination of judicial and quasi-judicial functions at the district level.
The present notification has been issued in pursuance of Government Letter No. 9987/Courts-VIA/2026-1, Home (Courts-VIA) Department, dated 01.06.2026, and stands as a Revised Notification in R.C.B4/5183/2026, dated 16.06.2026, superseding the earlier notification of 11.06.2026.
About the Position
The appointment is on a tenure basis for a period to be prescribed by the Government and may be terminated before the expiry of the term.

Eligibility
Advocates practising in Tamil Nadu with not less than seven years of standing at the Bar are eligible for the posts of Public Prosecutor, Additional Public Prosecutor, Government Pleader, Additional Government Pleader, and Pleader Doing Government Work.
As per Section 18(7) and (8) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, an advocate with not less than seven years of practice may be appointed as Public Prosecutor or Additional Public Prosecutor; not less than ten years of practice is required for appointment as Special Public Prosecutor.
No application fee is mentioned in the official notification.

Eligible advocates must submit their willingness in writing to the District Collector, Ranipet, using the prescribed application form in Annexure I & II, in six copies, along with two passport-size photographs.
The application must reach the office on or before 07.07.2026 by 05:45 PM. Applications received after 5:45 PM on 07.07.2026 will be summarily rejected.
