About the Opportunity
BCG India is hiring a Legal Counsel with a primary focus on data privacy and compliance across the Asia-Pacific region. The role is based in Gurugram and involves providing privacy compliance assurance, contract negotiations with vendors and clients, and training across BCG’s global legal team.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide assurance of privacy compliance with global and regional regulations (Singapore PDPA, Australia Privacy Act, Hong Kong PDPO, Japan APPI, Thailand PDPA, Malaysia PDPA, and more)
- Support Legal and Procurement teams with data privacy agreements with global/local vendors
- Support data privacy agreements with clients, including contract negotiations
- Work with Information Security and Compliance team on global policies
- Develop and conduct global and local privacy training sessions
- Perform research on up-and-coming data protection legislation
- Support Data Protection Impact Assessments wherever necessary
Eligibility Criteria
- Legal counsel with minimum 5+ years of experience in data privacy and compliance
- Medium-large company experience in tech or consultancy sector preferred
- Graduate degree (J.D.) in Law from an accredited law school
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Strong knowledge of GDPR and privacy laws across Asia-Pacific
- Experience with cross-functional and cross-border teams
