About Defence Innovation Organisation (DIO)
The Defence Innovation Organisation (DIO) is a Section 8 company established by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) to support the Ministry of Defence in building India’s defence innovation ecosystem. DIO implements the Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) framework, which promotes innovation and technology development by engaging startups, MSMEs, academia, research institutions, and individual innovators.
About the Opportunity
The Defence Innovation Organisation (DIO) is inviting applications for the post of Program Executive (Legal) on a full-time contractual basis. The selected candidate will be a part of the legal team supporting the iDEX initiative and will be responsible for handling legal compliance, contract management, legal advisory, and representation in legal matters.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must possess either:
- LL.B. with 4 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant field; OR
- LL.M. with 2 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant field.
Experience Required
Candidates should have experience in one or more of the following:
- Working as a legal adviser/executive in a reputed company, Government Department, PSU, or similar organisation.
- Legal documentation and contract management.
- Court filings and legal representation.
- Arbitration and legal interpretation.
- Laws, rules, and regulations relating to Start-ups, MSMEs, Government Departments, and Companies.
Age Limit
Candidates should be below 30 years of age as on August 10, 2026.
Roles and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements applicable to DIO.
- Provide legal advice, opinions, and interpretation on contracts and other legal documents.
- Represent DIO in legal matters.
- Assist the iDEX management on legal issues.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the COO or competent authority of DIO.
Consultancy Fee
- ₹80,000 – ₹1,20,000 per month (consolidated), based on recommendations of the Selection Committee.
- Annual increment of up to 10% based on performance appraisal.
Duration
Initial contract of 3 years, extendable up to 2 additional years based on organisational requirements and satisfactory performance.
Job Location
New Delhi (with the possibility of deputation to other locations based on organisational requirements).
