The Moot Court Society, Apex School of Law, Apex University, Jaipur, organises the Judgment Writing Competition as part of Jus Novum – AU Nationwide Law Fest, 2026.
About the Competition
This competition invites law students to act as judges and deliver well-reasoned judgments on a Criminal Law problem, testing their legal knowledge, analytical skills, and judicial reasoning. It is a national-level contest fostering practical exposure to judicial decision-making.
Competition Structure
Single Round Judgment Writing Competition
Individual Participation Only
Criminal Law based problem
Reading and Analysis Phase: 90 minutes
Judgment Writing Phase: 60 minutes
Judgments can be drafted in English or Hindi
Eligibility
Students currently enrolled in LL.B., Five-Year Integrated Law Courses (B.A. LL.B., or equivalent), or LL.M. programmes from recognized institutions in India
Prizes
Winner: ₹5,000 + Trophy + Certificate of Merit
Runner-Up: ₹3,000 + Trophy + Certificate of Merit
E-Certificates of Participation for all participants
Registration Fee
₹600 per participant (Accommodation excluded)
Accommodation available at additional charges, communicated separately
Duration
The competition phases occur on the same date.
